Rustic Hutch has been serving the home decorating needs of Northeast Indiana over the last 29 years. Started in the early 1970’s selling only furniture (including, as one may imagine, rustic-looking hutches), it has evolved to become one of the area’s foremost locations to find one-of-a-kind gifts for your family, friends, or yourself!
Opening in Georgetown Square in 1974, Rustic Hutch established many relationships with customers that continue to this day. In 1979, representatives for Glenbrook Square asked if Rustic Hutch wanted to be a part of a new concept area inside the mall called the “Apple Orchard”, and it was enthusiastically embraced by our customers. Rustic Hutch has also been seen at Southtown Mall and the Village at Coventry prior to its current third store at Jefferson Pointe.
Rustic Hutch strives to create a unique atmosphere to spark a customer’s imagination by showing how very different home decorating accents can come together to make a complete room setting, so that customer can “bridge the showroom gap” and see how something might look in their own home. To accomplish this, Rustic Hutch buys from an exclusive list of several hundred vendors selling over 10,000 different items annually which creates the unique mix of product seen in the Rustic Hutch stores. Included in this mix are well-known brand names, such as Vera Bradley and Yankee Candle to regional and local vendors, all with the quality product people have come to expect from Rustic Hutch. This uniqueness also extends to our furniture selection as well as our interior design service that has won People’s Choice Awards in multiple Fort Wayne Parade of Homes. We are also very thankful for our loyal employees, which continue to provide the welcoming atmosphere and service. Many having worked for us over 10 years, and a few over 25 years, they make a team that few retail stores are able to match.
