The Fort Wayne Street Rod Association was formed in 1972 by a group of young men who loved the "hot rod" and "street rod" (pre 1949) vehicles. Today, the FWSRA has become one of the oldest and most respected car and truck clubs in Indiana. It has grown to over 60 families with the same original love and enjoyment of street rods as well as developing a Philanthropic mission within the Fort Wayne community.
On August 13 and 14, 2005, FWSRA will host the 31st Annual Muddy River Run at the Allen County Fairgrounds and invites the community to join them in the fun. The first event was held in 1975 at the Soap Box Derby Track in Franke Park. It was then moved to the Johnny Appleseed Park in 1980 where the name "Muddy River Run" actually originated. In 1987 the event moved to the IPFW (Indiana Purdue at Fort Wayne) Campus. In 1996 the event moved to its current home, the Allen County Fairgrounds. All net proceeds from the MRR are donated to The Turnstone Center for Disabled Children and Adults (over $400,000 to date) and to the FWSRA Endowment Fund for Disabled Students at IPFW (over $100,000).
The FWSRA has an outstanding partner in Fast Print. Dawn Broda has been excellent in understanding and helping the Club meet its printing needs. And Dawn Wiseman, with her skills and experience, has been most creative in providing eye catching design for our brochures and posters. We thank Fast Print for their support.
