Dupont Surgery Center started as a new venture between several specialty groups of physicians and a hospital partner in September of 1999. At that time the center had three operating rooms and two procedure rooms. The monthly case volume during the first year of business was approximately 200 to 250 cases a month. In the fall of 2000 two new specialty groups were added to the company and the decision was made to expand the center. The expansion was completed in the fall of 2001, which doubled the number of ORs, pre-op and recovery areas and overnight stay rooms. An additional physician group was added at the beginning of 2002 and the case volume has soared to the 650+ level. We have patients spend the night in our private rooms where they enjoy private duty nursing and a restful environment. The Center's RN's are specially trained to provide the highest quality of patient care and concern.
We consider our center to be the best place to have outpatient surgery. The Center's patient satisfaction is always above the 95% threshold established by the Board of Directors. The center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and received Medicare deemed status during it's first accreditation in January of 2001. The Center is very modern, ADA compliant and has current life safety standards. We have initiated a Corporate Compliance program and are HIPAA compliant.
One of our best decisions was to employ Fast Print to take care of our printing needs. They make our pre-printed patient records and go well above the call of duty when changes are needed. And, like Fast Print, we hope to enjoy many years of service to our Fort Wayne Community.
